A few months ago (at the beginning of March 2008), I was wandering around at our great IFW Center, the home base of the Computer Science Department, just a few steps away from the ETH Zurich Main Building. Doing nothing (as usual), daydreaming (as usual), I was just hanging around at one of our lounges when out of the blue Prof. Kossmann emerged and headed directly towards one of my collegues nearby with whom he had to discuss some project issues. All of a sudden, he looked at me and asked quite seriously: “Are you interested in an internship at Accenture in India?” Baff. Well, as I was indeed searching for some work opportunities during the summer break, I surely was interested, although I was not taking the offer that seriously at that time (come on, India, me?). So, my CV (Curriculum Vitae) was sent shortly after that conversation.
Week after week passed by. Nothing happend, in fact, I was not even thinking about it anymore. But then, one month later, I got mail. And with it, things sped up, the wheel of destiny was turning. I had to send them my transcripts, got invited to Accenture the same week and was accepted the very same day I had my interview.
And here I am, ready to start a journy into a distant and so different country. Another interesting chapter in my life. If you want to keep informed about my life & work in Bangalore, check out this blog during my stay from the 19th of June 2008 to the 12th of September 2008.
According to Accenture, I am employed as an intern that has been invited to Bangalore for business meetings and knowledge transfer. Well, let’s see how this will works out.
About me
I am a 24-year-old guy and live in a mysterious place called “Switzerland“. That wonderful country with all its cows, cheese and mountains lies in the heart of Europe and resists to join the European Union with all forces. Currently, I am studying computer science at the ETH Zurich, sit the whole day in front of the computer, never ever see the daylight, have no friends, look like a barrel on two legs and if you just believed everything you should probably work on your prejudices.
Actually, my hobbies change a lot. I like playing Badminton, Soccer, Volleyball and all kinds of team sports. As most people, I enjoy going to the cinema and having parties although the latter does not happen that often since I prefer a more familiar atmosphere.

Welcome to India!!
